Who we are
Lunora is a personal-safety app that lets you send a Call to a Constellation of Guardians you choose, share a watched walk home, and reach your local emergency number. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. Contact us at hello@lunora.family.
What we collect
- Account info — the phone number or email you sign in with, your name, and an optional profile photo. Your name and photo are shared only with Guardians you accept, so they can recognize you.
- Precise location — collected and shared with your Guardians only while a Call is active or a Walk with me session you started is running. It is not collected in the background otherwise, is not always-on, and stops when the Call or walk ends. It is used only to bring help to you and to rank who's closest.
- People you invite — the phone numbers or emails you use to invite Guardians. Invites are sent by you through your own device's share sheet, SMS, or email. We do not upload or store your address book.
- Account identifier & basic diagnostics — to keep the service reliable and secure. Not linked to advertising and not used to track you.
What we never do
- No advertising, no third-party ad SDKs, no advertising identifiers.
- No tracking across other apps or websites.
- We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone.
- No silent or always-on location — location flows only during an active Call or a walk you start.
How your data is protected
Data is encrypted in transit. Access is enforced by row-level security so only you and the Guardians you've accepted can see what's meant for them. Your safe and duress codes are stored only as salted, hashed values — they are never readable on your device or by us. Sign-in sessions are stored in your device's secure keychain/keystore.
Sharing
We share your live location and the details on your alert (your name and photo) only with the Guardians in the relevant Constellation, and only during an active Call or walk. We use trusted infrastructure providers (for database, push notifications, and — if enabled — SMS/voice delivery and payment processing) strictly to operate the service; they process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
Your choices & rights
- Choose and remove your Guardians at any time.
- Location sharing only ever happens during a Call or a walk you start.
- You can delete your account and data from within the app — this permanently removes your profile, codes, location history, and Constellation memberships.
Children
Lunora can protect minors when a parent or guardian sets up and manages the child's profile. We do not knowingly collect data from children except as provided by a parent for the child's safety.
Emergency services
Lunora complements — and does not replace — emergency services. In a life-threatening emergency, always contact your local emergency number.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll update this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
